Ninos Y Ninas UK

Ninos Y Ninas is part of my favorite shop list because they pretty much carry a lot of the brands that I love from Spain and ship to the U.S. So I wanted to get to know Ninos Y Ninas and was able to interview Kerenza, part-owner of Ninos Y Ninas, based in Glasgow, UK. She was also kind enough to provide Euro Chic Bebe readers with a discount until May 18th, 2015! Just enter code Eurochic20 at check out for 20% off your order.

How was Ninas Y Ninos started?

I was living in Spain, running my cafe in a sports resort in Murcia. I found I was getting frequent requests from friends and family to source certain brands and items not easily available in the UK. I quickly realized that Spanish children's wear was becoming increasingly popular and with the support of my friend Nicole we decided to start up the business and I returned to the UK. We are based in Glasgow but ship world wide - even back to Spain!

What is the main idea behind Ninos Y Ninas?

Our objective has always been to offer something different. There are so many beautiful brands out there that are still undiscovered.  My clientele want to dress their children in traditional Spanish clothes not readily available on the UK high street and I work hard to ensure that we achieve that.

What makes a children's wear shop successful like yours?

I have a fantastic customer base, they make my job easy! I think the key to our success is we are always looking for new brands and styles that offer something different. We stock some smaller Spanish fashion houses that you couldn't find outside of Spain.

What do you think makes children's wear from Spain different from others?

The Spanish love to dress their children - be it smart or casual, they are always beautifully turned out. The styles tend to be more traditional and everything has to match! I love the fact that they are dressed age appropriately, all to often in the UK I see children dressed beyond their years.

What's your favorite collection so far for S/S 2015?

My favorite brand is without a doubt Rochy. I love the classic styling with a twist and their use of bold prints and colors. The bow cardigans in particular have been a best seller - a staple for every little girls wardrobe.

Any advice you would like to share when it comes to children's fashion?

The basics can make such a difference to an outfit, matching tights and knitwear, a classic shoe and of course - a hair bow!

I leave you with some pictures of Leyla wearing the Miranda Cleo dress (One of my favs!) which is available at Ninos Y Ninas UK along with the white satin bow knee high socks.
